Notably, the Bill was already circulated among Rajya Sabha members on Friday. Before the motion was adopted for the passage of the bill, RS Deputy Chairman Harivansh allowed Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge to speak for two minutes.
Tomar moved the motion and said while moving the bill for a passage that the three laws were brought for the benefit of farmers.
The House passed the bill with a voice vote amid protests by Congress and TMC members. Dola Sen (TMC) and Nadimul Haque (TMC) were in the well to protest the passage of the bill without debate.
After the passage of the farm laws bill, the House was adjourned for half an hour.
In an address to the nation a few days back, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repealing of the three Central farm laws on the day of Guru Nanak Jayanti. The bill was cleared by the Union Cabinet last week.
The winter session of Parliament is scheduled to conclude on 23 December.
