CM Shri Chouhan’s efforts resulted in many benefits to Krishi Cabinet Now step for the economic upliftment of Cow rearers

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken a decision for the formation of Gau-Cabinet (Cow Cabinet) for the protection and conservation of cow progeny in the state. In this cabinet, Animal Husbandry, Forest, Panchayat & Rural Development, Revenue, Home, Agriculture Development & Farmers Welfare departments will be included.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has said that the first meeting of Gau-Cabinet will be organized on Gopashtmi, November 22 at Gou-Abhyaran (Cow Sanctuary) of Agar-Malwa.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has underlined the importance of integrated and consolidated agriculture for the progress in the agriculture sector and to make the farmers economically strong. Cow rearing plays an important role besides ensuring the production of food grains as well as to ensure fair price of agricultural produce to farmers. People engaged in agricultural activities get a lot of time for animal husbandry. The problems of cow rearing will be removed and schemes, as well as programmes, will get momentum towards making it economically helpful. At the same time, measures will be adopted for protection and conservation of cow progeny.
It is to be mentioned that the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan himself had formed the Agriculture Cabinet. Decisions of this cabinet were implemented. Along with increase in production and productivity in the agriculture field, farmers availed the benefits of the government schemes, which resulted in monetary benefit of farmers to a great extent. Similarly, the formation of Gou-Cabinet will benefit Gou-Sevaks, cattle rearers and farmers.
With the formation of Gau-Cabinet, the scope of economic welfare of cattle rearers, Gou-Sevaks and agriculture labourers will increase. Gau-Seva has key place in Indian Culture. Even today, the first roti made at home is fed to Gou Mata by lakhs of families. Ghee made from cow milk has special significance in puja and anushthan. The Government of Madhya Pradesh has taken important steps for the development of Gou-Shalas.
Gou-Abhyaran is an important achievement of Madhya Pradesh
The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has chosen Gau-Abhyaran, located in Agar-Malwa district for the Gau-cabinet. It was the first cow sanctuary to be started in India. This was an important achievement of the state. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan on the occasion of Govardhan Puja on the second day of Diwali had announced to celebrate Gopashtami at the cow sanctuary. Assistance was given to Gau-Sevaks in Madhya Pradesh for the operation of Gau-Shalas. Arrangements regarding treatment and feed for weak and sick cows were also made. Cooperation was given for the development of Gau-Shalas by organizing various activities through the Gau-Seva Commission.
Six departments to execute decisions of Gau-Cabinet in coordination
In Madhya Pradesh, mainly six departments will execute the decisions of Gau-Cabinet. The action plan will be implemented in the direction, how to increase the use of cow dung cakes (Kanda). Activeness of 6 departments will not cause any difficulty at the level of implementation. Work will be accomplished in coordination. Presently, the production of Gau-Kashth is being promoted. Thoughts will be given on new dimensions for the marketing of this product. Similarly, efforts will also be made for marketing other products made from cow milk.
