Significant Weather Features ;

♦ The Low-Pressure area now lies over northeast Madhya Pradesh & neighborhood and associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh, Rajgarh, the centre of a low-pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh & neighborhood, Daltonganj, Bankura, Canning and thence east-southeastwards to the northeast Bay of Bengal and extends up to 2.1 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height.

♦ The eastern end of monsoon trough likely to shift north of its normal position during next 2-3 days with the weakening of its western end from 10th September. Under such conditions, an increase in rainfall activity likely in northeastern states, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh from 09th September, reduction of rainfall activity over the eastern coast of India including Chhattisgarh from today and over the west coast of India from 10th September.

♦ Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls likely over Gujarat region, Konkan & Goa and West Madhya Pradesh during next 2-3 days. Isolated extremely heavy rainfall also likely over Madhya Maharashtra, Saurashtra & Kutch and East Madhya Pradesh during next 24 hours.

08 September (Day 1):

 ♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls very likely at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra and southern parts of East Madhya Pradesh; Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places over Konkan & Goa; at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, Gujarat region, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Assam & Meghalaya; Heavy Rainfall at isolated places over Interior Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

 ♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with squall very likely at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands; with lightning at isolated places over Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal.

 ♦ Strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are very likely to prevail over central & southwest Arabian Sea and westcentral Bay of Bengal. Squally weather likely to prevail over Gujarat coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

 ♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat state, Madhya Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; Heavy Rainfall at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, East Rajasthan, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Arunachal Pradesh.

 ♦ Strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are likely to prevail over southwest & adjoining westcentral Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

10 September (Day 3):
