All India Weather Forecast during next 5 days; IMD


Significant Weather Features;
♦ Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Lat. 22°N/Long. 60°E, Lat. 22°N/Long. 65°E, Dwarka, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Pendra, Sultanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mukteshwar and Lat. 31°N/Long. 80°E. 

♦ A Low Pressure Area is very likely to form over north Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood during next 24 hours, which is likely to become more marked and concentrate into a Depression during the subsequent 48 hours. 

♦ In association with this, conditions are likely to become favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of central India and some more parts of West & northwest India during 1st-3rd July.

 ♦ Likely westward movement of the above mentioned low pressure system may cause widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy & extremely heavy falls over Odisha on 30th June & 1st July, Chhattisgarh on 1st & 2nd July, Vidarbha during 1st-3rd July and over south Madhya Pradesh on 2nd & 3rd July. Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Gujarat region are likely to witness enhanced rainfall activity once again from 3rd July.

29 Jun (Day 1): 

♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places very likely over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, West Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan and East Uttar Pradesh; with Duststorm (30-40 kmph) at isolated places very likely over Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan; accompanied with lightning at isolated places very likely over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal.

 ♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Konkan & Goa; Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Marathawada, Coastal Karnataka, Telangana, East Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. 

♦ Heat Wave conditions in some parts with severe heat wave in isolated pockets are very likely to prevail over East Uttar Pradesh and heat wave conditions in isolated pockets over Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Bihar and West Uttar Pradesh

. ♦ Rough to very rough sea conditions (with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) are likely to prevail over westcentral & adjoining southwest Arabian Sea, south & adjoining central Bay of Bengal and along & off south Gujarat-Maharashtra-Goa coasts. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas. 

30 Jun (Day 2):

 ♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places very likely over East Rajasthan and East Uttar Pradesh; with Duststorm (30-40 kmph) at isolated places very likely over Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh; accompanied with lightning at isolated places very likely over Jharkhand. 

♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Odisha; Heavy rainfall at a few places with very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Konkan & Goa; Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Telangana, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Gangetic West Bengal and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, East Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Jharkhand.

 ♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Odisha, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh; Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Konkan & Goa and Telangana and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand. 

♦ Rough to very rough sea conditions (with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) are likely to prevail over westcentral & adjoining southwest Arabian Sea, south & adjoining central Bay of Bengal and north Bay of Bengal. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas. 

02 July (Day 4):

 ♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places likely over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh; Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Konkan & Goa, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Karnataka and Telangana and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Interior Karnataka, West Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya and Jharkhand.

 ♦ Rough to very rough sea conditions (with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) are likely to prevail over westcentral & adjoining southwest Arabian Sea, south & adjoining central Bay of Bengal and north Bay of Bengal. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas. 

03 July (Day 5): 

♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places likely over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha; Heavy rainfall at a few places with very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Marathawada; Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Karnataka and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Kerala & Mahe, South Interior Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. 

♦ Rough to very rough sea conditions (with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) are likely to prevail over westcentral & adjoining southwest Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

Meteorological Analysis (Based on 0830 hours IST)

♦ Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Lat. 22°N/Long. 60°E, Lat. 22°N/Long. 65°E, Dwarka, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Pendra, Sultanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mukteshwar and Lat. 31°N/Long. 80°E. 

♦ The cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal off West Bengal coast between 3.1 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists. Under its influence a Low Pressure Area is very likely to form over north Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood during next 24 hours, which is likely to become more marked and concentrate into a Depression during the subsequent 48 hours. 

♦ In association with this, conditions are likely to become favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of central India and some more parts of West & northwest India during 1st-3rd July. 

♦ The cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan & neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.

 ♦ The trough at mean sea level from northern parts of Punjab to northwest Bay of Bengal across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal persists. 

♦ The cyclonic circulation at 3.1 km above mean sea level over south Chhattisgarh & adjoining east Vidarbha persists. 

♦ The cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level over east Assam & neighbourhood persists. 

♦ The cyclonic circulation between 3.1 & 4.5 km above mean sea level over south Gujarat & neighborhood persists. 

♦ The Western Disturbance as a trough in mid-tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along Long. 66°E to the north of Lat. 32°N persists. ♦ The cyclonic circulation at 5.8 km above mean sea level over southwest Rajasthan & neighbourhood persists.
