10 August (Day 1):

 ♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy falls very likely at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch; Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Konkan & Goa and Gujarat Region and Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Lakshadweep, North Interior Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

♦ Strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are likely to prevail over southwest, central and northeast, Arabian Sea and along & off Kerala,Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat coasts, Lakshadweep area, Tamilnadu coasts, West Bengal-Odisha coasts and Andaman Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

11 August (Day 2):

 ♦ Heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Gujarat State, Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura,

♦Thunderstorm accompanied with lightening very likely at isolated places over Odisha. ♦ Strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are likely to prevail over southwest and westcentral Arabian Sea and along & off Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat coasts, Lakshadweep area and Andaman Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

12 August (Day 3):

♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar.

 ♦ Strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are likely to prevail over southwest and westcentral Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

13 August (Day 4):

♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh Punjab, Haryana,Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and Assam & Meghalaya.

♦ Strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are likely to prevail over southwest and westcentral Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

14 August (Day 5):

♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Coastal Karnataka and Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha and Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal.

♦ Strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are likely to prevail over southwest and westcentral Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

Significant Weather Features ;

♦ The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over southeast Rajasthan & neighbourhood now lies over northern parts of Gujarat Region & adjoining East Rajasthan with associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.

♦ Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls are very likely over Gujarat State , South Konkan & Goa, Karnataka and Kerala during next 24 hours.

♦ Isolated extremely heavy falls are also very likely over Saurashtra & Kutch during next 24 hours.

 ♦ Intensity of rainfall over Gujarat region, Kerala and Karnataka is likely to reduce from today and that over Saurashtra & Kutch from 11th August.

♦ Strong surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph likely over southwest Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat State and south Rajasthan during next 24 hours.

♦ A fresh low pressure area is likely to develop over northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood around 12th August. It is likely to move northwestwards and become more marked subsequently. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over north Odisha, south Jharkhand, north Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh during 12-14 August. Kerala is also likely to experience heavy to very rainfall at isolated places during the same period.

Meteorological Analysis (Based on 0530 hours IST) ;
♦ The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over southeast Rajasthan & neighbourhood now lies over northern parts of Gujarat Region & adjoining East Rajasthan with associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.

 ♦ The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bhuj, center of well marked low pressure area over northern parts of Gujarat Region & adjoining East Rajasthan, Shajapur, Umaria, Daltonganj, Bankura, Digha and thence southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal and extends upto 2.1 km above mean sea level.

 ♦ The off-shore trough at mean sea level from south Maharashtra coast to Kerala coast persists.

 ♦ The cyclonic circulation over Punjab & neighbourhood between 1.5 km & 3.1 km above mean sea level persists.

 ♦ The trough from Southwest Rajasthan to Jharkhand now runs from the cyclonic circulation associated with the well marked low pressure area over northern parts of Gujarat Region to Jharkhand across north Chhattisgarh tilting southwards with height between 3.1km & 5.8 km above mean sea level.

 ♦ The trough at 1.5 km above mean sea level roughly along Long. 92°E to the north of Lat. 24°N persists.

♦ A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood around 12th August.
