20 July (Day 1):

 ♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at a few places with extremely heavy falls at isolated places over Kerala & Mahe; Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka; Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, South Interior Karnataka, Telangana and Konkan & Goa and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Lakshadweep, North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat Region, Marathawada, Vidarbha, northeast Rajasthan, North Haryana & Chandigarh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam and Chhattisgarh.

♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning very likely at isolated places over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal & Sikkim.

 ♦ Rough to very rough sea conditions (with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) are likely to prevail over South Bay of Bengal southwest and westcentral Arabian Sea, Maldives area, Comorin area, Lakshadweep, Gulf of Mannar and along & off Gujarat, Kerala & Karnataka coasts. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

21 July (Day 2):

♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at a few places with extremely heavy falls at isolated places over Kerala & Mahe; Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Konkan & Goa and heavy rainfall at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Telangana, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat Region, Marathawada, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya.

 ♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning very likely at isolated places over Bihar,Jharkhand, Odisha and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim.

♦ Rough to very rough sea conditions (with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) are likely to prevail over southeast Bay of Bengal and southwest & westcentral Arabian Sea. Squally weather likely to prevail along & off Maharashtra coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

 22 July (Day 3):

24 July (Day 5):

 ♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places likely over Coastal Karnataka; at isolated places over Kerala & Mahe, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan and Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Lakshadweep, Interior Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa, Himachal Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Punjab, Odisha, Bihar, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

♦ Rough to very rough sea conditions (with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) are likely to prevail over southwest & westcentral Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

 Meteorological Analysis (Based on 0830 hours IST)

 The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Tonk, Shivpuri, Nowgong, Pendra, Sambalpur, Gopalpur and thence southeastwards to East Central Bay of Bengal.

 ♦ The cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan & adjoining Punjab now lies over Western parts of Haryana & neighbourhood and extends upto 3.1 km above mean sea level.
♦ The feeble off-shore trough at mean sea level from Karnataka to Kerala coast persists.
 ♦ The cyclonic circulation over eastcentral Arabian Sea off Maharashtra coast now lies over south Madhya Maharashtra & neighbourhood at 3.1 km above mean sea level.
♦ The east-west shear zone roughly along Latitude 15.0°N persists. and now seen between 3.6 & 5.8 km above mean sea level.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal & north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height now lies over south Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over north Kerala & neighbourhood at 7.6 km above mean sea level has become less marked.
 ♦ A cyclonic circulation at 7.6 km above mean sea level lies over south coastal Tamilnadu & neighbourhood.
♦ A cyclonic circulation between 3.1 & 5.8 km above mean sea level lies over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea. Weather Forecast for next 5 days * upto 0830 hours IST of 25th
