" No Hope for the Indian Farmers despite of a Good Monsoon "
The government hopes there will be the hike in GDP because of good monsoon in the country is totally baseless thinking. The truth that prevails economic reforms in the country is not possible without the farming reforms and even a good monsoon can’t stop farmers suicides in the country.
As on today, we are importing the pulses but our banks do not support the sowing of the pulses crops for their own shakes and benefits. Now there is the need to provide some structural arrangement to enhance the farmer income. A country like US and Europe govt. gives huge support to the farming community in form of subsidy and in some others way.
According to a survey of the 17 states, the income of the farmers in these states is rupees 20,000/= annually and it includes the produce that they kept for their family requirements, in other words, the monthly income of the farmers is just only 1666/= rupees
Despite of 98% irrigated land Why Punjab ranks second in case of farmers suicides . During 1970 the MSP of wheat was 600 Rs/Q and In 2016 it is 1450 Rs/Q . If we compare govt. employees salaries in last 46 years there is a increase of 300 times and increase in corporate income is about 1000 times. But what the farmer has received? The present farmer position is only due to unrealistic and imbalance economic reforms in the country. Even a good monsoon is not going to make any changes in farmer’s life .
